2 Spring Poems that will Make You Feel Like Blooming
If you know me, you know I’m a poetry girl through and through. I especially love finding unique poems to share with you all in each and every issue, to set the mood and get your own creative juices flowing.
Here’s are a few favorites from the poet, Mark Van Doren, is his published book of work titled: A Country Year. This charming book of poems was written in the years leading up to 1945, in the lazy rural countryside of Illinois and Connecticut.
I hope you’ll enjoy them as much as I do!
Spring Thunder
Listen. The wind is still,
And far away in the night—
See! The uplands fill
With a running light.
Open the doors. It is warm;
And where the sky was clear—
Look! The head of a storm
That marches here!
Come under the trembling hedge—
Fast, although you fumble.
There! Did you hear the edge
Of winter crumble?
Wind in the Grass
Are you so weary? Come to the window;
Lean, and look at this.
Something swift runs under the grass
With a little hiss
Now you see it rippling off,
Reckless, under the fence.
Are you so tired? Unfasten your mind
And follow it hence.
These poems were included in this month’s published issue, (issue no.3). It’s a phenomenal read. If you haven’t already, get your copy of it here.
